Mentoring Campaign - AGDA WA 2016
AGDA WA Mentoring Campaign 2016
Fellow student representative for AGDA WA, Matthew Marino and I were tasked to theme and provide collateral for the 2016 AGDA WA Mentoring Campaign. Every year AGDA WA launches an industry mentoring program targeting both professionals and final year students. Matthew and I built the concept of the campaign around a play on the word ‘Mould’. We felt that not only could this direction provide interesting visual results, but could also be adapted for both students and mentors in a relevant way.
Working within a tight deadline, Matthew and I set about cultivating mould on various materials cut into letter forms. We experimented with bread, yoghurt, cheese before settling with rockmelon. How the mould took shape and what the final outcome would be was an exciting unpredictable aspect that we wanted to use unedited. The end result left us with lovely colours and textures, with the orange of the rockmelon working well with the green of the mould.
Matt and I developed DL invitations for the mentors and an A3 poster for the students. We also had taken photos of the growth of the mould approximately every third day, which we turned into a GIF for use on AGDA WA social media.
